Taking inspiration from iconic events such as Red Bull Air Racing, Reno Racing, and the legendary Schneider Trophy (1913 - 1931), I created a series of Speedbirds for a new air race trophy concept for my former company, RECARO Air Racing. My lifelong fascination with aviation — sparked by watching planes take off and land at my hometown airport in Stuttgart — remains as strong as ever. While developing Recaro’s brand identity, I often explored ideas that extended beyond the company’s immediate needs. These explorations led me to imagine how the spirit of the Schneider Trophy could be revived through the lens of the RECARO brand. The result is a personal project that celebrates the thrill of air racing, blending the structure of classic competitions like Red Bull Air Racing and Reno Racing with a more flexible, contemporary event design.
